Back in April, I was invited down to witness the 2010 Pillsbury Bake-off. The Orlando CVB helped organize extra-curricular events for media, which included a tasting of foods from restaurants in the various Disney parks. It gave us a peak at the burgeoning food scene in Orlando, but truth be told, most of our time was spent cooped up in meeting rooms at the Hilton.
Well, September is Magical Dining Month in Orlando, and the Orlando CVB has invited a few of us back down to get a better feel for the very best that the sunny theme-park mecca has to offer. Actually, if my last trip was a tasting, this is the full 12-course prix fixe. I very nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the six page itinerary that involves no less than four meals a day for the duration of my stay. The schedule includes a diverse array of food and drink from Vietnamese to chocolate to beer.
I have to say though, that I’m most looking forward to the Red Chair Affair. If anyone happens to be down there on Saturday, the tickets are only $22 and it sounds like it’s going to be a night of good food and entertainment.
I’ll be on checking in with updates on Twitter, so follow me if you don’t already, and check back here for posts from Orlando.
